Bethany Cosentino, best known as the woman behind revered indie rock group Best Coast, has already had a fascinating career in the entertainment industry. Initially courted as a potential pop star as a teen, Cosentino took a different creative path. She made lo-fi indie rock, initially with the band Pocohaunted and then as Best Coast. After three celebrated studio albums, Cosentino and Best Coast took another left-turn last year, releasing their first ever kids album, ‘Best Kids’.
In her BIGSOUND keynote, Cosentino will discuss coming up in the indie rock scene of the 2000s, finding widespread success with her dreamy and hazy brand of guitar pop, and how it feels creating art when your private life becomes public.
